It’s a funny old world… and inescapably poetic. This constant parry between ideals and reality, perfection and humanity, what can be laughed at and what cannot. I’m a story-teller with a camera. The central focus is a joy in capturing the poetry and feeling of everyday modern life, whether in fiction or documentary, stills or moving image.
In the process I have built a reputation for drawing genuine performances out of non-actors and actors alike and capturing emblematic stories in an uncontrollable environment.
In my personal work I apply the same rigorous techniques and hunt for message and meaning that structure my commissioned advertising practise but to things whose meaning and humour feels harder to pin down, but somehow relevant.
